Pea coat is a versatile wardrobe item that can be combined with jeans for a casual look or dress if you are trying to impress. Most pea coats are made of wool, but some are made of cotton. Although cotton is less sensitive than wool, both pea coats should be washed carefully without damaging the fabric and keep the shape of the jacket intact. So, when pea coat looking a little dirty and smelled a little strange, a good cleaning, but the matter of some TLC so the coat will be out of the wash looking gorgeous.
Items You Will Need
- Pre-wash stain remover
- Mesh laundry bag
- Gentle laundry detergent
- White towel
Pre-treat collars, cuffs and other stains on the jacket pre-wash stain remover. Let it be a few minutes to be absorbed into the fabric.
Button or pack your coat and check all the pockets. Pea coat turn inside out. Put it in a mesh laundry bag.
Place the washer and sensitive to cold water washing. Some of the newer models of washers have the wool setting. If you wash the wool pea coat and a washing machine is this setting, use it to wash your jacket. More gentle laundry detergent machine.
Place the mesh bag machine. Run pea coat through a delicate wash.
Remove the mesh bag machine immediately when the cycle is completed. Take the jacket out of the bag. Turn it right side up and push it gently to remove any excess water can be trapped in the fabric.
Lay a clean, white towel on a flat surface. Set pea coat towel. Convert coat with your hands.
Enter the front of the pea jacket dry completely. Turn it over and allow to dry the back of the jacket.
Tip:
- If pea jacket is wrinkled after cleaning, hang it on a hanger after it dries, and use hand garment steamer to release wrinkles.
