Eva Brenner: My Ideas for the Clothes Upcycling

Fresh ideas for your wardrobe

In the spring we muck out like once the wardrobe. Winter clothes are mothballed and airy blouses and tops are revealed. Often while hiking a few clothes in the clothing collection.

But this must not be, because with a few Upcycling tips you can miss again a new distinctive look some favorite items.

A dear friend of mine recently made the classics. From an old Mr shirt she has tailored a charming dress for her daughter. This is very simple. The button bar is the focal point here. Of them starting just a short-sleeved dress cut. Hemming the edges and sew front and back. And a pretty summer dress for little girl is already created.

But also for “big girls”, I have a trick in stock. From old epoxid, you can create beautiful feminine collar. You can be embroidered directly onto the collar. There is no crocheted Doilies on hand, you can help yourself with a cake top made of paper. Simply set the desired pattern on the Shirt collar and draw out the holes with a textile markers. This has to transfer the pattern on the T-Shirt and makes for a great new look. Be sure the pattern fix according to the instructions the fabric paint with an iron, otherwise, there’s a nasty surprise after the first wash.

Do you also feel that some T-Shirts are getting shorter after a few washes? I think often too bad, because I would like to wear them but not necessarily a fan of belly-free fashion . But here, too, there is a solution. I then cut an approx. 15 cm wide hard-on at the hem from an other T-Shirt and close him just at the hem of the short troubled shirts. This creates a cooler Layerlook.

Me is even on a “home in luck” construction site (every Sunday, 9:00 on RTL II) a little mishap happens. I wanted to paint something quickly and my favorite jeans got an embroidery. I made a virtue out of necessity. I turned the jeans in a polka dot pants with white fabric paint and stencils. While you should make sure but that the points at a regular distance on the jeans are painted on, otherwise it will be too restless.

Sometimes the most creative Upcycling attempt but also helps in some clothes nothing more and buy the favourite shirt XYZ is just fucked. Then only one thing helps: just big squares, ideally by the front print, from old T-Shirts cut and she sews together to a quilt. On the back of a beautiful favorite fabric and some fleece lining in between. So you have a nice cuddly blanket or a bed cap memory factor.

Oh yeah, and where we’re on the subject of ‘Living’: old corded or denim shirts are ideal for upholstery for stool or small chairs.

Do you have great Clothes-Upcycling ideas? I appreciate your creative suggestions.
